I Googled Miette and discovered the following:
1. There's a Miette's Patisserie located in San Francisco's Marketplace on the Embarcadero that Michelle and I have probably passed by before. Go figure. It's kind of a boutique pastry shop specializing in Parisian sweets mostly.
2. On that same site, I discovered that "Miette" also means "little crumb" in French so I guess there are different translations. When Michelle and I went in for an ultrasound several months back, our doctor asked what our daughter's name was going to be. We told him and he replied "oh, little crumb". He knows French slang.
3. Miette handbags! I think they're designed for old, rich ladies...
4. Apparently, the name "Miette" is also "most likely derived from the Cree First Nations word 'Myatt', which translates to 'bighorn sheep'". So they say...
5. In Canada, there's a Miette River, Miette Hot Springs, and The Miette Range in Jasper National Park located along the Canadian Rockies in Alberta. Nice.
Michelle chose Miette's middle name, Tinh. It means "peace" in Vietnamese.
